Premarital Sex promoted in ABS-CBN's Tele-series Programs

Did you not know, your favorite Kapamilya (eng: Family Member or Part of the Family) ABS-CBN has been promoting premarital sex in their Teleseries programs? But before we get anything presumptuous, let's make our definition of the word premarital sex.

Premarital sex, under standard religious and social context, is sexual activity, including vaginal intercourse, oral sex, and anal sex, practiced by persons who are unmarried. It came from the prefix pre, which means before, and marital sex, which is sexual activity within the context of marriage.

Not all of the favorite TV station's programs are exploiting premarital sex, but I've noticed quite a number, usually in romance teleserye (teleseries or television series), and sometimes on religious programs. For instance, the recently launched Ikaw ay Pag-ibig (You are the love), where Agnes (starred by Dimples Romana) gets pregnant accidentally before even getting married.

Premarital sex had also been practiced by the hero and heroine of Imortal (Immortal), where they made love and were shown in bed before they got married (note, their prior attempt for marriage did not succeed because of Lucille's intervention). Premarital sex was also portrayed in Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo (If we are going away or moving away), where the housewife starred by Kris Aquino, who thought her husband was dead, made love with a new boyfriend without even getting remarried. Another clear example is the TV show Katorse, starred by Erich Gonzales, who played the part of a teenage mom. In this TV series, she was impregnated by his boyfriend. His boyfriend starred by Ejay Falcon, also had premarital sex with his brother's girlfriend. In Tanging Yaman, where Isabel Policarpio played by Melissa Ricks, had premarital sex with Francisco Salazar/Baltazar played by Matt Evans, rendering her pregnant. And of course, the recent TV show Maria la del Barrio wasn't also excluded. Maria and Luis (played by Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee) made love in bed prior to marriage. Of course, these are just some... there are many other TV shows jam packing with premarital sex promotions, or at least, subliminal messages.

Of course, these TV programs were base on reality, wherein a former conservative society dominated by religion is slowly being overtaken by liberal ideology. Added the fact, that such TV programs are tolerating such practices, the people watching them, whether teens, adults, or children, gets an idea that if the main characters were OK with it, why can't we?
